Welcome to the Williams library! I have been the librarian since the school opened in 2004. I earned an endorsement in library media from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BS in Elementary Education from Kent State. I believe that the ability to read and comprehend what is read is one of the most important skills needed for a successful life.

To foster this goal, we use Reading Counts! for all students in second through fifth grade. Students read books on their Lexile level (a reading level determined by the SRI test) and take computerized comprehension quizzes.They earn points for passing quizzes which are part of their reading grade. They can also spend their points for prizes at the end of each grading period.

We will have a list of quizzes by lexile that we own posted on this Web page so that students will be able to located books at the public library or book stores to read and take quizzes on.
As they say, the more you read, the more you know!
